WHO WE ARE

Our Mission

Perth Trail Series is a purpose driven social enterprise. We’re so much more than your standard event operator. Out of the many (~90) events we organise throughout the year, only 15 are commercial in nature with the vast majority being free social events and cause driven outings, like rubbish clean-ups and weekly group runs.

Our Director

Melina Mellino is one of the leading trail running ambassadors in Australia, and particularly here in WA. She’s committed to bringing more and more runners to the trails while advocating for preserving the environment and building our community. In addition to directing Perth Trail Series, she serves on the board of Trails WA, on the Media Team for the World Trails Network – a NFP that connects trails and trail users globally, and as a Trail Ambassador for WA.

Melina is an integral member of many reference groups for trails currently being designed and constructed around our state advocating for inclusion of running tracks. You can hear her speak at industry conferences talking about how to get more trail users onto the trails.

You’ll find Melina doing some of her best work on the mic at our events – getting everyone pumped up and raring to go! Make sure you say hey to Melina at your event – she’d love to meet you! Woohoo!

Meet The Team

Vince – He’s our course creator and responsible for all the PTS gear, including our massive trailer. From sourcing, to painting, to driving it out he’s super handy and we couldn’t do it without him!

MEL

Mel – She’s the one who does all the behind the scenes admin to make sure event day is smooth for you. From opening rego to changing your distance to confirming the Woohoo Crew!

Deej – He’s the reason your results are LIVE before you get home from the event! He loves making sure that your time is accurately saved and you had the best day!

Stu – He’s our Comms HQ! Checking in with all the Woohoo Crew, filtering the many messages we receive on the day, and making the team laugh with sense of humour. And he’s got his whole family involved!

Nino – Our village manager. You’ll see him organising the Woohoo Crew and checking on medals.

Shane – He’s new to the team and part of event HQ. You’ll see him floating around on course, on the radios, assisting with timing. There’s nothing he can’t do!

Patrick and Brady- Our event photographers. They make sure to capture you having fun and that you get your photos on the website and FB, by Wednesday!

The Experts: Our go-to trusted professionals

Ricey – He’s our go-to trainer with all the tips and advice on how to get our bodies in the best condition for trails!

Abby – She’s our go- to physio that will make sure you’re back on trail if an injury happens. She’s often found on the podium at our trail fests, and sharing the trail love with her daughters.

Adam – He’ll make sure you’re back on trail if an injury happens. Adam has a unique background of sports and fitness. When he’s not running in the events, you’ll see him in his tent offering massages.

Very impressive. I am a complete novice at running and didn't anticipate being able to tackle 1km let alone 5. The PTS crew are very supportive and welcoming which made me feel comfortable and in safe hands. I even went on to do a second trail run with my 8 year old daughter, also new to running. I am already looking forward to seeing what they have planned for next year's winter trails.

I was previously a member of a different Perth running club. For reasons, I became disinterested in running at the club events and the thought of attending became negative. I'm a keen hiker, and most summers can be found somewhere in Walyunga NP. When I saw the Perth trail series I thought I'd give running a shot again. The Perth Trail Series community and woohoo crew are so supportive and welcoming that it has reignited my interest in running, and I get to do it in the beautiful Perth bushland that I love. Every event is well organised and the vibe is phenomenal. Love it! Woo hoo!

Awesome events with amazing positive team running them on challenging courses around Perth. These trail runs are some of my favourite events I have ever attended and can't recommend them enough. I started with blue courses and have moved up to black and really enjoy the experiences and challenges. Everybody is so friendly and easy going. The really cool medals are great too 🙂

Love PTS trail races. With distances for everyone from beginner green to experienced black and blue for the smart folk in the middle. If you want to try trail running this is an awesome place to start.

Good fun "themed runs" are a giggle: In my first run I met "Alice in wonderland" on the trail : seen so many national parks FROM the elite to the daft loons just there for a run : good fun
